Joseph was the O.T type of Christ in His fullness or "the double". His name means "God is going to do it again." It was the second time that his brothers came from Canaan where he makes himself known. (Acts.7:13) Although there was an intense yearning inside Joseph to reveal himself to His brothers he restrained his emotions until he can stand it any longer and says " I am Joseph, I am Joseph your brother. bring everything you have and come and be near to me.  In 1 Cor. 13:10 it says we can only now see him partly (with a hindrance) but when he comes we will know Him and see Him fully, we will Jesus face to face. When we see Him in a bodily presence we will be changed into His likeness.   Joseph and the apostle Paul reveal this wonderful aspect of His character in that "He can hardly wait to see us", so much so he has to restrain Himself from doing so for reasons we will look later.  (Gen. 43:30, 45:1) On numerous occasions Paul speaks of an intense longing to see his brethren, the word used is the same for an inordinate or obsessive desire.  This desire to be with Christ or the brethren (we are one with Him and with one another) is the only one that is not taken in a wrong context.  Song of Solomon 2:5, 5:8 says we are love sick, we would say home sick.
-1 Thessalonians 2:17 We brethren being taken from you a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.  Wherefore we would have come unto you even I Paul, once and again.
